Information to Bring

When you come for your first appointment, please bring your prescription from your physician and your insurance information.

What Happens

The office staff will make a copy of your insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid card.

If you have commercial insurance or workman’s compensation insurance, we will check your benefits to see if the item is covered by your insurance. If it is covered, we will discuss deductibles and copayments. If it is not covered, we will discuss price.

If you are a Medicaid recipient, Medicaid rules require us to submit a written authorization request to their office; they then send us an approval or denial. This process takes 4 – 6 weeks.

Evaluation & Fitting

You will be shown to a private patient room where an evaluation will be made by one of our certified practitioners. Necessary measurements will be taken at this time.

If your device is a ready-made item and is in stock, you will be fitted and receive your item at that time. If the item is not in stock, it will be ordered and you will be advised about the expected delivery date.

If your device is a custom made item, you will be advised about the next fitting at that time. Due to the unique nature of our work, it is sometimes difficult to determine the length of time needed for each patient. Through our years of experience, we try to schedule appointments so that wait time is minimal.
