Lambert’s Orthotics Prosthetics Patient Aids is a family owned and operated business that has been serving the Greater New Orleans area since 1965. Lambert’s is one of only two orthotic/prosthetic facilities in New Orleans to be certified by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics (ABC). Lambert’s practitioners are also certified by ABC.

Claude “Gene” Lambert originally started the company in 1965, as part of Snell’s Limbs and Braces. Mr. Lambert’s interest in prosthetics developed early as his brother (and fellow practitioner) had both lower limbs amputated as a result of a childhood accident.

In the early 1970’s, the Lambert’s separated from the Snell organization and became known as Lambert’s Orthotics Prosthetics Patient Aids Inc. of New Orleans. Mr. Lambert’s wife, Bonnie, helped in the office, and was also an ABC certified mastectomy fitter. Mr. Lambert’s son, Mike, joined the organization in the early 1980’s. Mike was followed by his sister, Vanessa, in the front office, and his brother, Doug, in the shop.

Mr. Lambert passed away in 2004 and Mrs. Lambert in 2008. Mike, Vanessa, and Doug Lambert continue to operate the business today.

Vanessa retired from the company in 2013, and Mr. Lambert’s granddaughter, Holly, joined the company in her absence.
